The Mechatronics Laboratory at the Department for Mechanical and Production Engineering is an inspiring hub where innovation meets creativity in the fields of mechatronics and robotics. Whether you're curious to explore cutting-edge technology or eager to bring your ideas to life, this dynamic space invites you to discover, design, and innovate.
The lab is divided into two key areas:
Laboratory Safety
If planning something that might be dangerous, you must contact the laboratory administrator for a safety review.
All personal injuries must be reported in writing to the laboratory administrator.
Work that produces dust or fumes is not allowed in the Mechatronics Lab.
Obtain appropriate training and approvals before using any equipment.
Follow all written and verbal instructions carefully. If you do not understand an instruction or part of it, ask the staff before proceeding.
Food, drinks, and chewing gum are not permitted in the Mechatronics Lab.
Ask questions about unsafe methods. Take care of each other.
Rules of conduct:
Access is primarily granted through an access course, which is an integral part of the education. Other access must be requested directly from the laboratory administrator. State your purpose in the lab and your AU ID.
If you break something, stay calm. Inform the staff so we can repair or replace it.
Broken equipment and deficiencies can be reported anonymously using the QR codes in the laboratory.
Soldering must be done at the soldering stations with extraction.
When the room is booked for teaching, it is typically only room 120 that is reserved. Room 114 (the project room) can be used simultaneously with teaching; however, be considerate and avoid unnecessary noise.
Tools and materials must remain in the laboratory at all times.
Keep the laboratory clean and tidy.
Tables, chairs, etc. may be moved, but remember to return them when you are done using them.
Everything has its place in the laboratory. Make sure to put things back in their proper place after use.
Keep the workbenches organized; clean up after yourself when you leave the room.
