Fluids and Energy

At the Fluids and Energy section we focus on cutting-edge research, development, and teaching within the fields of fluid mechanics, energy systems and sustainable technologies. In collaboration with both private and public partners, we work to tackle real-world challenges related to energy sustainability, environmental impact, and efficient resource utilisation.

Our key research areas include:

  • Sustainable energy system design and modelling at all scales
  • Computational and data-driven fluid dynamics with applications to thermo-fluid engineering and wind energy
  • Thermo-mechanical design and optimisation of sustainable energy technologies such as Power-to-X (e.g., green hydrogen), solar photovoltaic systems, and energy storage & conversion
  • Bio-fluid modelling and cardiovascular engineering with applications to health technologies

Collaborate with us and tap into the latest research and technological knowledge. We emphasize on practical applications and innovation and offer a range of cooperation models from student projects and internships to R&D projects and commissioned research.
