Profile

I am a nurse with a PhD from the University of Southern Denmark. I work at the intersection of nursing, clinical research and healthcare development. I am interested in connecting research and practice to strengthen care that responds to people's needs and everyday lives. My current roles include associate professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University, and research lead for nursing at the Elective Surgery Center, Silkeborg Regional Hospital.

Research

I research person-centred care pathways for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, particularly low back pain and complex pain. Through qualitative research and collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals, I explore how everyday life, individual needs and healthcare organisation shape care pathways. My research informs the development of coordinated care that supports people's agency and opportunities to live a meaningful life with illness.

Consultancy

I provide research-based advice in the Danish Health Authority's follow-up group on care packages for people with chronic low back pain, Human First's strategic working group on low back pain and the My Back advisory board on professional competence development. Previous advisory roles in the Danish Rheumatism Association's New with Arthritis project, VIVE's project on diagnostic and treatment pathways for people with rheumatic conditions and Danish Regions' work on psychiatric care pathways.

Job responsibilities

I lead and develop clinically embedded nursing research and interdisciplinary collaborations across healthcare sectors. I supervise PhD students, early career researchers and clinical nurses, and teach qualitative research methods and critical appraisal. My work includes strengthening research capacity and translating knowledge into clinical practice in collaboration with patients, healthcare professionals and managers.
