As a lecturer in the dental hygiene program, my focus is on helping students learn how to learn and reflect. Therefore, I spend a lot of time on student-centered teaching, both in clinical education and in the classroom. I graduated as a dentist in 1998 and have been teaching in the dental hygiene program since 2002. I also work concurrently as a dentist in private practice. From 2006 to 2008, I participated in the systematic continuing education in periodontology at the University of Copenhagen's dental school.
My primary responsibility is the clinical education of dental hygiene students. This includes, among other things, guidance during patient treatment and the development of teaching materials.
I plan and am course coordinator for the course 'Advanced Clinic, Health Promotion, Prevention, and Disease Control' in the 3rd semester. I am also an examiner for clinical exams.
In addition, I am responsible for teaching periodontology for dental hygienists and clinical dental technicians. The subject is part of several interdisciplinary courses throughout the semesters, with interdisciplinary written exams after most courses.
I have been elected to the study board for oral health. I am also elected to the Institute Forum at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, where I serve as vice-chair.
Furthermore, I have been elected as an alternate union representative for part-time scientific staff (D-vip) at the institute
