I am a postdoctoral researcher at the National Centre for Register-based Research at Aarhus University, where my research focuses on eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. In my work, I utilize Danish register data, molecular biomarkers, and genetic data to gain insight into the development and prognosis of eating disorders.
I hold a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from KU Leuven (2019) and a PhD in Metabolomics from Leiden University (2026).
My current research aims to characterise the prodromal phase of anorexia nervosa using laboratory data from general practice to map patterns of healthcare use, physiological abnormalities, and biomarker trajectories in the two years preceding diagnosis.
In an upcoming Lundbeck Foundation project, I will investigate whether neonatal metabolic, immune, and neurotrophic markers, integrated with genetic and environmental data, can predict eating disorder risk, illness course, and treatment response.
