As a Research Assistant, I investigate biological mechanisms underlying Functional Somatic Disorders, with a particular focus on inflammatory markers, neuroendocrine dysfunction, and pain signalling. I hold an MSc in Biomedicine and have a research background in RNA splicing and disease, where I have previously worked with RNA modulation, RNA sequencing analysis, and pseudoexons.
My primary area of responsibility is the collection and handling of biological samples from patients with Functional Disorders, as well as the establishment and optimisation of laboratory assays for the investigation of inflammatory and neuroendocrine biomarkers. I also work with method development, validation of novel analytical techniques, and evaluation of laboratory methods relevant to ongoing research projects.
