My research focuses on molecular mechanisms in cancer, with emphasis on genomics, epigenetics and precision medicine. I work with whole-genome, RNA and long-read sequencing and integrated analysis of structural variants, gene fusions and DNA methylation. My research is translational and closely linked to clinical diagnostics, with a particular interest in paediatric cancer.
I teach and supervise within molecular medicine, cancer biology, genomics and precision medicine. An important part of my work is developing research talent through supervision of students, PhD students and early-career researchers. I emphasise active participation in research projects and interdisciplinary collaboration across molecular biology, clinical medicine, bioinformatics and other relevant disciplines.
I collaborate broadly across disciplines and institutions with clinicians, molecular biologists, bioinformaticians and other researchers. These collaborations range from basic disease biology and development of new analytical methods to translational research closely linked to patient care. I place strong emphasis on bringing complementary expertise together around shared research questions.
I contribute research-based and clinical expertise within molecular diagnostics, genomics and precision medicine. This includes interpretation of complex genetic and molecular findings in patient reports and multidisciplinary team meetings. The advice is grounded in my research in cancer biology and genomic analysis.
