As a neurologist and clinical associate professor, I primarily work with chronic pain, including neuropathic pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). I divide my time between research at the Danish Pain Research Center and clinical work at the multidisciplinary pain and headache center at Aarhus University Hospital, where patient encounters inspire new research questions.
My research focuses on clinical phenotyping and longitudinal cohort studies of neuropathic pain and CRPS. I am currently the sponsor of a randomised controlled trial in CRPS. I also give lectures on neuropathic pain and CRPS at both pre- and postgraduate level, and contribute to national clinical guidelines on behalf of the Danish Neurological Society.
