I am a medical doctor, holding a position as consultant at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Horsens Regional Hospital, where I serve as head of research. I am affiliated with Aarhus University as associate professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine. I strive to improve prognosis and survival for patients with organ failure and sepsis, particularly through novel technologies, and optimizing patient pathways and pain management for surgical patients.
My research experience has been cultivated through diverse projects, beginning in 2002 with laboratory work on growth factors, currently encompassing enhanced surgical pathways, acute critical illness, and artificial intelligence. I serve as head of research at Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Horsens Regional Hospital, where we contribute to high‑quality national and international research initiatives.
At Horsens Regional Hospital I am engaged in acute critical care, surgical pathways, and anesthesia. The patient population is diverse, ranging from neonates to the elderly and from robust to frail individuals, which I find compelling. Furthermore, I am affiliated with the Pre‑hospital of Central Denmark Region as an emergency physician, where I stabilize and treat critically ill or severely injured patients prior to hospital admission.
