My research focuses on aortic disease, particularly aortic dissection and complex endovascular treatment. I work with randomised clinical trials, multicentre studies, and registry-based research. I am Principal Investigator and Chair of the Steering Committee for the SUNDAY trial on the treatment of uncomplicated type B aortic dissection.
I teach and supervise medical students, junior doctors, and PhD students in vascular surgery and clinical research. I emphasise clinical relevance, methodological rigour, and the development of independent research skills.
My research is built on extensive national and international collaboration. I lead multicentre projects through the SUNDAY network across Scandinavia, the Netherlands and New Zealand, collaborate closely with Uppsala University/UCR, and serve as Co-Chair of the International Consortium of Vascular Registries (ICVR).
I provide professional advice in vascular surgery, aortic disease, and clinical research, including study design, multicentre studies, and clinical registries. I also contribute to national and international steering committees and scientific collaborations.
