I am a physician, PhD, and postdoctoral researcher in dermatology at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University, and Aarhus University Hospital. I conduct research in translational dermatology with a focus on pathophysiology (how diseases arise) and the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. In my work, I combine clinical trials with molecular analyses of skin biopsies. My specialty is spatial transcriptomics, a method that reveals which genes are active in specific locations within the skin.
Translational dermatology: Linking clinical trials and molecular laboratory research Inflammatory skin diseases: Psoriasis, atopic eczema, and rare skin conditions
Spatial transcriptomics: RNA profiling, i.e., mapping gene activity in skin biopsies
Clinical trials: Planning and execution of clinical protocols
Skin immunology: Cytokine signaling pathways (the immune system's signaling molecules) and pathological tissue changes
