As a clinical professor and consultant clinical oncologist, I work to advance the clinical use of radiotherapy, particularly proton therapy for pelvic cancers and reirradiation. My work combines patient care with clinical research and the development of treatments aimed at improving cancer outcomes and reducing side effects from radiotherapy. I am an MD, PhD and specialist in clinical oncology, based at Aarhus University and the Danish Centre for Particle Therapy.
My primary responsibility is the clinical implementation of proton therapy for pelvic cancers and pelvic reirradiation, including the development of new treatment protocols and the integration of research with patient care. I also work with proton therapy for breast cancer, patient-reported outcomes and shared decision-making across cancer diagnoses.
