Profile

I am a postdoctoral researcher in Victor Puelles’ research group at Aarhus University, where my research focuses on using advanced microscopy and spatial proteomics to study human tissue and better understand how diseases develop and differ between patients.

A major part of my work involves PathoPlex, a highly multiplexed spatial proteomics method based on iterative immunofluorescence. In simple terms, the method allows us to examine a large number of different proteins within the same tissue sample while preserving information about exactly where they are located.

Using PathoPlex, we can create detailed molecular maps of tissue and study which proteins are present in different cells and tissue regions, where they are located in relation to one another, and which proteins tend to co-localise. This provides a much more detailed picture of the biological organisation of tissue than looking at individual proteins separately.

I currently apply these approaches in several cancer research projects. I am particularly interested in combining detailed tissue imaging with biological and clinical information to investigate differences between patients and identify patterns that may help us better understand disease.

My work brings together microscopy, spatial proteomics, pathology, biology, and data analysis, with the overall aim of turning complex tissue images into meaningful biological and medical knowledge.
