I am Professor and Chair of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Aarhus University, and Senior Consultant in Pain Management. My research focuses on acute and chronic post-surgical pain, with particular emphasis on its prediction, prevention, and treatment. I use diverse methodological approaches to investigate pain trajectories and improve patient outcomes following surgery. I am actively involved in teaching at all academic levels and supervise Master and PhD students, supporting the development of future researchers and clinicians. Through my research, teaching, and clinical work, I aim to advance evidence-based pain management and improve the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic pain.
