As Associate Professor at the Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit (TNU), I investigate the biological mechanisms underlying psychiatric disorders, with a particular focus on how neuroimmune factors contribute to mental illness and cognitive dysfunction.
I hold a MSc in Neurobiology from the University of Copenhagen and a PhD in Neuropsychology from the University of Nottingham and have more than 20 years of experience within preclinical psychiatric research.
My work examines both behavioral outcomes and underlying molecular mechanisms, and is strongly translational through clinical collaborations. The overarching aim is to identify novel therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers for psychiatric disease.
