My expertise lies in translational medicine, with a focus on renal physiology and pathophysiology. My research investigates how inflammation, complement activation and fibrosis drive kidney injury and its cardiovascular complications, and how these processes can be targeted therapeutically. I combine in vivo models, cell culture, patient tissue, molecular methods, imaging and omics, working closely with clinicians and industry. I also teach medical biochemistry and supervise students.
