Profile

I am a postdoctoral researcher studying protein turnover in cardiac and skeletal muscle. My current project focuses on the molecular mechanisms that control muscle protein degradation during age- and disease-related muscle wasting. Combining techniques from physiology and biochemistry, I aim to identify new targets for therapies that preserve muscle mass and function, and thereby improve quality of life for patients with muscle wasting.

Collaborations

I am keen to connect with researchers and clinicians interested in better characterizing onset and progression of muscle wasting. For possible collaborations, please reach out to me by email.

Ongoing collaborations include:

- Prof. Dr. Jens Fielitz (Universitätsmedizin Greifswald/DZHK)
- Dr. Philipp Mertins (Max-Delbrück-Centrum für Molekulare Medizin (MDC)/Berlin Institute of Health)

Job responsibilities

The main responsibilities of my position as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biomedicine are research, dissemination of research findings and research-based teaching for undergraduate/postgraduate students at Aarhus University.
